Fundraising Tips to help you reach your Goal!

1. Write your Appeal on your Fundraising Page

Spend time personalizing your donation page! Write your own story explaining why you are fundraising for Mychal’s Learning Place and helping to spread awareness for this organization.

Mychal’s Learning Place provides programs, job training, and employment opportunities to youth and young adults with special needs. Their mission is to provide a path to independence for these individuals because nobody should have their goals and opportunities limited simply because they have a disability.

We are fundraising on behalf of Mychal’s because we believe the 85% unemployment rate among these individuals is unacceptable and everyone deserves the right to build their independence and pursue their goals & dreams. Mychal’s  provides a safe and loving environment that encourages independence and builds self-esteem.

 Please join us in spreading awareness about their amazing students and fundraising for Mychal’s to continue to provide opportunities for these individuals! We would be grateful if you considered donating to support these students and help us reach our goal or become a Team member to start your own fundraising page & stroll the Strand with us! Anything you’re willing to do will be greatly appreciated. 

2. Send a quick text 

Text your supporters asking them to support your fundraiser! Here’s a template you can use, just copy & paste:

 Hi ____, I’m fundraising for the Santa Stroll on Saturday, December 14th that benefits Mychal’s Learning Place, a nonprofit providing programs and job training to individuals with special needs. I would be grateful if you’d consider donating to support these students and help me reach my goal! Anything you’re willing to give will be greatly appreciated. If you’re interested, you can also register to walk – every registration receives a Santa suit & I’d be thrilled to Stroll the strand with you! Thank you so much!” [INSERT YOUR FUNDRAISER LINK]*

*Don’t forget to send the link to your fundraising page!

3. Write an email 

Send an email to your supporters asking them to join your team & participate in the Santa Stroll or support your fundraiser! Here’s a brief example, just copy and paste:

Hi ______,

I’m fundraising for the Santa Stroll on Saturday, December 14th benefitting Mychal’s Learning Place. I’m excited to be walking from Hermosa pier to Manhattan pier and back in support of this amazing organization. Mychal’s Learning Place provides the support, training and opportunities to youth and young adults with developmental disabilities to build their independence and pursue their goals and dreams.

The reason I am participating is because I believe the 85% unemployment rate among these individuals is unacceptable and everyone deserves the right to build their independence and pursue their goals & dreams. Mychal’s  provides a safe and loving environment that encourages independence and builds self-esteem.

I would be grateful if you considered donating to support these students and help me reach my goal! Anything you’re willing to give will be greatly appreciated.
